Delivery Track & Tracing (TTS)

This solution handles the communication between the central workstation and the terminal on board the vehicles.
This system can trace in real time the delivery progress of every single trip displayed on the map, thus allowing on time intervention in case of delays or unforeseen events by communicating with the customer or by changing the delivery sequence.

Depending on the system configuration and parameterisation, this module makes use of 3 different modes:
  • No interactive communication – final acquisition of the trips highlighting the deviation from the estimation
  • GPRS communication – on time acquisition of the deliveries data as they are carried out, re-calculation of the travelling times and graphic indication of any problems occurred in the following deliveries during the trip
  • GPRS / GPS communication – in addition to the delivery data there is the possibility to punctually query, either automatically or by request, the movements of the vehicle during its trip

The terminal assigned to the driver, where the data regarding the round to make is loaded, is equipped with a barcode reader to be used to check the loading and unloading of the vehicle thus enabling a punctual control over the shipping units.
If equipped with a printer, quittances and transport documents can be issued.

Technically, the data exchange between the head-office and the vehicles is based on TCP-IP standard protocol with GPRS technology.
The geographic coordinates relative to the latitude and longitude of the vehicle are supplied by a GPS receiver (Global Position System).

In-house functions

  • Managing the basic tables (vehicles, drivers, etc.)
  • Data loading and unloading on/from terminals by way of cradle, and storing of the services to perform and already performed
  • Telematic receipt of the delivery results and of the data regarding the trips
  • Telematic receipt of the vehicle satellite positions in single or time “tracing” mode
  • Sending and receiving of text messages to/from the drivers
  • Displaying the trips and the relevant deliveries on map (Italian vector digital map 1:200.000 / 1:10.000 geo-referenced)
  • Monitoring the delivery and trip progress
  • Displaying the trip differences between estimation and final calculation

Terminal functions

The module installed on the handheld terminal has the following functions:
  • Managing the trip state (start, end, stop)
  • Displaying the delivery detailed data
  • Checking the packages upon loading onto the vehicle
  • Checking the packages and delivery result
  • Loading and unloading of local data in the head office
  • Interactive connection to the head office via GPRS
  • Preparation for management and sending of satellite positions via GPS
  • Documents ready for printing

Vehicles Track & Tracing (TTM)

Monitoring the vehicle through the computer on board the vehicle connected to the driver.

On the base of the detected data, one can configure for each vehicle the events exceeding pre-fixed thresholds and then determine the alarms that must govern the driving criteria of each single driver.

In - house functions

The central program allows configuring and parameterising vehicles and drivers as well as querying and monitoring the trips taken.

For each day it is possible to identify the significant events occurred during the deliveries in order to analyse the problems arisen (alarms).

The map allows displaying the position of all the vehicles belonging to the fleet and the single routes by way of symbols relevant to the events that have occurred (alarms).

Functions on board the Vehicle

The Computer on board the vehicle acquires data regarding:

  • the driver identification
  • date and time of trip start
  • date and time of trip end
  • kilometres covered /absolute kilometres
  • speed
  • revolutions
  • travelling times
  • stop times
  • motor use in hours

The data is transmitted to the head office in real time:

- through the GPS module that allows detecting the geographical coordinates so as to store the trip trace and the position of the detected events.
or:
- through the GPRS module that allows the remote data downloading as well as querying the satellite coordinates in order to locate the vehicles.

Statistics

Special queries and prints are envisages to allow the analysis of the general data of the fleet and of the single vehicles, the definition of the scheduled routes and any difference between the estimated and the real final route. The prints can be customised by the user and data can be exported and integrated with the IT system.

Web Track & Tracing (TTW)

By means of a simple internet browser, the TTW procedure allows querying the progress of orders and deliveries, the management of the users that have access to deliveries data, to queries and analysis via web of the delivery progress, to local download of transport documents, delivery result.

TTW is based on a database so structured to be always accessed by any person independently from where he is, provided that he has the specific authorisations.

The important data regarding the deliveries and their detailed description are displayed from the arrival of the order until its completion.

The user connecting to Internet to be informed about the delivery situation will be recognised by the system which, depending on his authorisation level, will display only the information pertaining to him.
