Recent Intermediate Period (1000 - 1450 A.D.)
In the Recent Intermediate Period different states and regional dominions formed, which recovered previous cultural traditions. After the disintegration of the Wari empire, the cultural models, based on experience prior to the unifying phase, express themselves in a unique and differentiated way.
In the northern area the Chimú reign was consolidated, whereas to the south the power of the small Chincha Empire extended.
